  • The control scheme is way too difficult and frustrating for a game in this genre. It didn't have to be as simple as Plants vs. Zombies, but the developers certainly could've streamlined things a bit here. I spent $15 and have nothing but regret over this purchase. If you're looking for a game that's similar to Has Been Heroes I suggest you look towards upcoming games like Fallen Legion, Dragon Marked for Death, or Indivisible.

fun in bursts, almost like a sped up plants vs zombies in a way

First off this game is hard like very hard until you get the hang of it. Spend a few hours with it do not give up and once you get the mechanics down it is a lot of fun. It is repetitive fun but a good pick me up game when you don't have a lot of time to sit down and play. The game can sometimes be "unfair" because of it being random each time you play it from map layout to monsters and bosses. Most rogue-like games are built in a similar fashion so you can't fault this game for being this way. It can throw you into a impossible fight right from the start or you could go through 5 to 6 points on the map that have easy or no enemies at all then end up being bombarded with a tough fight with no real preparation. The developers are listening to players complaints and have already been fixing things with patches while still keeping the core game challenging.Secondly DO NOT BUY this game on Amazon or eBay from scalpers for these ridiculous asking prices well above the MSRP of $19.99. The game didn't show up on Amazon until now because it released exclusively to Game Stop only as a physical release and the Nintendo eShop digitally. If you prefer a physical copy buy this game at a local Game Stop for its physical retail price of $19.99. This game has only been out for a week now (released March 28, 2017) and more than likely your local Game Stop stores still have copies in stock (I know mine do). It's not that popular of a game because of it receiving to many mixed reviews from popular gaming websites and reviewers most of which feel the game is too difficult so it's not exactly flying off of shelves. Nasty nasty scalpers! Do not keep supporting scalpers!
